Robert Thompson-So


Robert Thompson-So serves as President of Line Financial Services.

In the financial services industry since 1992, Robert brings to Line Financial Services a background in capital markets, restructuring, mergers/acquisitions, and investment advisory—all areas that contributed to his interest in alternative investment and financing. During his career in the investment advisory industry, Robert earned various designations including the Chartered Investment Manager (CIM) and was a Fellow of the Canadian Securities Institute (FCSI.)

Active in the trade finance and asset-based lending industry since 2006, Robert fills a major organizational role, working within the executive team and with the board of directors to help identify, plan and execute strategic initiatives across the various lines of business. His main roles include capitalization, marketing/sales, structuring, developing new markets, M&A initiatives amongst others. Robert also spends a large amount of time dedicated to early stage review of transactions for existing clients and strategic funding partners.

In addition to his duties at Line Financial, Robert also serves in various officer and director capacities at Liquid Capital Enterprises and its subsidiary and related companies.

Tammy Kemp

VP, Chief Credit Officer

Tammy Kemp serves as VP, Chief Credit Officer of Line Financial Services.

For almost 25 years, Tammy Kemp has honed her experience in all aspects of credit management, with a focus on strategically growing loan portfolios and preserving capital through front-line risk assessment and mitigation.

Prior to her work at Line Financial, Tammy held senior roles in Canadian alternative and boutique asset based lenders —including Director, Risk and Vice President.

Melissa Huot, CPA

Chief Operating Officer

Melissa Huot serves as Chief Operating Officer at Line Financial Services.

Melissa’s main responsibilities include overseeing the finance and accounting department as well as IT & Business Intelligence and the Human Resource strategy.

Over the last 10 years, Melissa’s time has been spent primarily at large public companies such as Wolseley Canada and Second Cup Coffee Co. Much of her experience has been focused on managing financial planning, financial analysis and public company reporting. During her tenure at Wolesley Canada she was responsible for performance management for a $500 million annual division. She has also been involved in Mergers and Acquisitions and corporate transformation initiatives.

Melissa graduated from McGill University with a Bachelor of Commerce degree with a major in Finance. Melissa holds her CPA designation.

Vlad Rojko, CPA

VP, Operations

Vlad Rojko serves as Vice-President, Operations at Line Financial Services.

Vlad comes to Line Financial Services with over 20 years of experience in the financial services industry with the last 10 focusing specifically on accounts receivable factoring and trade finance. He and his team are primarily responsible for dealing with the day-to-day operation and monitoring of the factoring and trade finance portfolio as well as providing advice on best practices for account and relationship management to clients and stakeholders of the organization.

Vlad currently holds his CPA designation.

Rick Coles

VP & General Counsel

Rick (LL.B, Western, B.A. and M.B.A, University of Toronto) joined Line Financial as Vice President and General Counsel upon Liquid Capital's acquisition of TCE Capital in May, 2016. As such, he is actively involved in most aspects of Line Financial's business operations but especially its asset based financing program.

Prior to joining Line Financial, Rick had been actively engaged in TCE Capital's business and affairs for over 20 years, first as part of his private law practice and since 2012 full time as an executive and its in-house general legal counsel.

In his general commercial law practice, Rick advised clients ranging from small to medium sized businesses, and their owners, to national enterprises. Rick also had an earlier career in banking and equipment financing.

Rick is a member of the Law Society of Ontario and the Ontario Bar Association (OBA).

Karol Guerrero

Underwriting Director

Karol Guerrero serves as Director of Underwriting for Line Financial Services.

With over three decades of experience in the Factoring industry and past experience in Credit and Underwriting, Operations, Finance, and Account Management, Karol plays an integral role within Line Financial. Karol believes in positive thinking, hard work and building strong relationships in the workplace.

Prior to joining Line Financial in 2019, she spent 8 years with Far West Capital as Vice President and Underwriting Manager. Karol served as Portfolio Manager and Staff Accountant for Bibby Financial from 2007 to 2011, and Operations Director and Financial Controller for Comresco Capital from 1990 to 2007.

Karol graduated from Dallas Baptist University with a Bachelor’s degree in Business.

Bert Crossin

Senior VP, Head of ABL Underwriting

Bert Crossin serves as Senior Vice President and Head of ABL Underwriting at Line Financial Services.

Bert leads our Asset Based Lending underwriting efforts including credit & risk oversight. He and his team provide support to our sales teams across both Canada and the United States.

Active in the mid-market commercial lending sector for more than 20 years with a primary focus on Asset Based Lending, Bert's experience includes both conventional and alternative / non-traditional lending along with distressed / restructuring activities. Recent roles include Underwriting and Portfolio Management responsibilities with two non-Bank alternative ABL providers servicing the North American market. Past experience includes Underwriting, Portfolio and Sales orientated positions with Wells Fargo, Royal Bank and other large Canadian institutions.
